Meet Meagan Stamps!

Meagan Stamps is a freshman at Bear River High School. She started taking piano lessons at 6 years old and started playing guitar in 8th grade. She has had many piano teachers over the years and they have all helped her learn so much! She has 7 older sisters and 2 older brothers. She loves children and grew up with lots of nieces and nephews. Meagan has been teaching piano to some of her neighbors and family for a couple years and has loved it! Other than teaching and music, she loves to hike, camp, read, watercolor and spend time with friends and family.

She says, “I can't remember my life before music. One of my earliest memories is my dad playing guitar for me before bed. I grew up surrounded by music. My 9 older siblings filled our house with many different kinds of music, from piano to violin to trumpets and drums. I wanted to be just like all my awesome big brothers and sisters and join in the fun. At about 6 years old, one of my sisters started teaching me piano. I've had many teachers over the years and they've all helped me progress and learn in lots of different ways. For the last couple of years, I've been able to share my love for music by teaching piano to my nieces and a few neighbors.

In 8th grade, I started learning guitar at school and loved it! I kept up with it over the summer and am super excited to get to help teach it this year! I have so many fun memories of my dad and sisters playing guitar as I grew up. My family loves to go camping together and sing along to a guitar around the campfire or while we look for shooting stars. When I was younger, my dad would play guitar for me every night to help me fall asleep. Now that I've learned how to play, we have lots of fun playing together.

I'm excited to start teaching at Harmony Arts this year!”
