Local photographers will set up an outdoor studio where anyone can arrange to have a portrait session.

Onlookers are invited to watch these skilled photographers as they manipulate light and set the perfect scene to capture a timeless portrait by the sea! Cost is $150 for each half hour session with a professional photographer and includes 12 4X6 proof prints. Admired local photographers Ken Dyck, Margit Callvin, Tamara Roberts and Kate Webster will be back again this year to take part in this unique program. At Harmony Headquarters

The North Shore Artists Guild has been promoting artists from Howe Sound to Deep Cove since 1947. This year the The Guild is very excited to have the opportunity to participate in the Harmony Arts Festival and to exhibit a juried show of paintings by over 70 artists.

The North Shore Photoraphic Society is one of the largest and most active in Canada and holds several meetings each month. For the past 26 years it has sponsored an annual photographic competition among photography clubs in BC and Yukon, known as the North Shore Challenge, and has featured among the winners of this competition.

The West Vancouver Seniors Photography Club is comprised of photography enthusiasts from the West Vancouver Seniors Centre. This club also meets weekly, and among its activities submits images to both the North Shore Challenge, and the Pacific Print Challenge. Further information is available from the Seniors Centre Office. Both clubs are members of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA), and both welcome new members.

ArtBeat

By partnering local merchants and artists, students from the Capilano University Ideas program will transform the streets of Ambleside and Dundarave into a 4 km gallery walk for the ten day festival. Storefronts are changed into mini galleries, expanding the artistic beauty of these two charming villages by the sea. Visit the festival info booths for more information on this program.

Art in the Park

Everywhere you turn at the festival you are sure to find an artist in the park. From personal creations to magnificent demonstrations, this is an exclusive chance to learn from and interact with artists. This is a rare opportunity to watch the creation of original art before your eyes!

Harmony Showcase Exhibition

This mixed media exhibition features the works of ArtSpeaks artists, the Group Show selection of 3D artists, and invited guest artists. 29 local artists will be involved. Exhibition opens Friday, July 30th, 5:30pm-8:00pm.

The work of 65 talented, local artists will be showcased at the Harmony Arts Festival Juried Group Show from July 30 to August 8. Artwork will be displayed at the following venues: Delany’s Dundarave, Delany’s Park Royal, the Ferry Building Gallery, the Upstairs Studio at the Music Box, and the West Vancouver Library.

ArtSpeaks and ArtDemos

From July 31 to August 8, the ArtSpeaks Tent and the Ferry Building Gallery will feature an exciting line-up of artist’s talks, art demonstrations, workshops, hands-on classes and slide presentations.
